Also isn't using wood glue to effectively join the 2 pieces of wood into 1 the same as sealing? Has anyone just screwed and glued a box without caulking and tested for leaks? Caulking the box is the best for sealing the box, but without caulking, isn't it technically already sealed? Just curious
audiofanaticz Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 As long as your cuts a straight and you use a proper amount of glue to fully cover the joint you are gluing there is no issues. I probably haven't used caulk in 12 years if not long and never an issue.

If the gaps are big (1/8") or bigger then silicone would be better, but at that point you might want to rebuild anyway.
