Lets talk alternators - 2002 c150

I have a 2002 f150 with the 4.2 liter. My system is 2400 watts so I'm thinking about purchasing a 240 amp HO alt. Mechman has one for $350 and Singer has one for about 100 bucks more. Is the singer worth the extra cash? I like how the Mechman accepts the factory sized belt, but does anyone have any stats on The Mechman's output at idle?

Let's discuss...

I doubt that the mechman uses a factory belt.

What type of alt is the singer?

As for idle output mechman list that on their website.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

According to the website, Mechman accepts the factory sized belt, but that could be hog wash.

The singer is a hairpin standard sized case

If the singer is a hairpin and the mechman is not the singer will be the superior alt, especially at idle.

An alternator accepting the factory belt is one thing. Whether it performs as well as if it had a tighter belt that's less likely to slip, that's another. My Singer will accept my OEM or factory belt size, but it's less likely to slip with the ~inch shorter belt that I put on. (At least I assume, as I never gave it a chance with the old belt
