Lakeshow94
So i went to go check on the subs today (see if they got warm at all) and they were good like always although I noticed some moisture on my northstar group 31 battery. It has been a sunny 60+ the last two days as well. I can't find a leak or any other moisture in the trunk either. Do agm batteries do this? if so it is new to me. 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.

3vil
This is a back battery right, not the underhood one?

Lakeshow94
Not at all. It's been very dry. My amp is dry, my subs are dry, everything is except the battery surface. Yes it is my rear battery. I have a group 24 northstar in the front as well. As great as that idea is smoove I don't have a spare 1500 at the moment, not to mention I just bought the northstars a few months ago brand new. It's not excessive moisture, but enough that it is noticeable if you touch the battery. 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.
Lakeshow94
I'd just like to know if it is an issue and if so I'll bring it back and get a new one. 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.
3vil
It does seem odd that only the battery is moist. You might have a small leak in your trunk/cargo area, but there should be more signs of moisture. Pat the battery dry with some paper towels and then check on it a few times over the next couple of days.
bdog
If the battery is colder than humid air around it it could sweat kinda like a toilet after a hot shower. REP
3vil
You would think in that scenario that the amp would gather some moisture too, since they also get warm.
Lakeshow94
I'll give that a shot and see what happens. I've ran agm in my trunk before and never had something like this happen. I agree with what you said though, I feel like it would accumulate on the amp as well. 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.
