Antoni Čović Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 Hello, will two infinitys be as loud as two kickers on 700w rms amp? Kickers sensetivity is 86db and Infinitys sensetivity is 96db.. Infinitys together have 700w rms and kickers 1500w rms but both will run on 700w rms amp.
reedal Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 That's a comparison no one can make without trying it. There are no versus threads by the way. My friend borrowed me his kickers and it running on steg k2.01 amplifier.. its hitting really nice.. I own one infinity kappa perfect sub.. but thinking about getting one more and making box for them.. but idk will i get same or worse result than with kickers..
BassNewb Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 On the 700rms and all other things "equal" then the infinity should be louder due to the higher sensitivity, on paper anyway.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Triticum Agricolam Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 Manufacturer sensitivity numbers are almost meaningless. The kicker will have more cone area, which would tip things in their favor IMHO. Triticum Agricolam Posted March 7, 2016 Report Posted March 7, 2016 The number may be inaccurate like most other numbers from most manufacturers but sensitivity still matters correct? Yeah, sensitivity definitely matters, but there is so much inconsistency in how its measured it makes comparing numbers between different subs useless.
