RoadWarrior
I have been checking out some nice HU's and some of them seem to have a lot of the features that a DSP would have . So why not save 500-$1000 and get a head unit that has crossover adj, time alignment, band pass, etc ?

Lakeshow94
I'd say it depends on your goal. If you want the best sound I agree with audiofanatics. If you want decent sound and you want to save a couple bucks pick up an 80prs. I've never ran a processor before and I've been pretty happy with the quality of sound so the 80prs should be sufficient for what im looking for. 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.

My whole system is running off of a MiniDSP 2x4. $1000? o__O The features the MiniDSP has even with the basic plugins far surpass that of FLAGSHIP head units. You're comparing checkers to chess. MrSkippyJ
With only 4 outputs though, the sub wouldn't be able to go through it as well. However for under $300 they have one that will work. I'm gonna look into those, seem like a good price depending on application and what software plugin you need to buy. Yup, I was assuming either that or the 8 output version. Either way should be less than $300.
