Tips on cutting .5" plexi?

I've never worked with plexi before but I got a scrap piece from work so I wanna give it a shot.

Best kind of saw blade for it? Best way to seal it (caulk, weather stripping, etc)? Any other pre-cautions for a noob?

If you have a router and are trying to use it as a mounting ring. Hit up 12vtools on FB. Alot of us have his bits and they are bad ass. Look at the UCC. Solid carbide bit. Will do a single pass in 3/4" acrylic. I did it. As far as a saw I'm not sure. Never tried. From what I've read you want a triple ground tooth and thin kerf. 90° rake angle I think? In line with the spindle. That's for table and circular saws. Good luck though.

slow and steady dont let the 2 edges melt back together... I use a high tooth count jigsaw blade

Thanks guys! Ended up not having a big enough piece for what I wanted to do so I didn't end up cutting it :-/
