I Blew Both My American Bass HDs in 5 days...smh

Recommended Posts

I've had several people tell me it's the amplifier being clipped to hell & back... I've had several people tell me it's the port..

It's user error,

No gear of any brand can correct for stupidity.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Here's what you need to do beings you are in MS.

Sell everything you have. Drive to Jackson with enough cash to get work done. Go to Discount Car Audio and see Jimmy. Tell him what you want out of your car/system and let him work his magic.

Kenwood / HELIX / Linear Power (For The Love Of Music) / Brutal Sounds / OverKill Electric Co

it really doesnt matter where the gain is, i mean it does, but if you are not paying enough attention that you blew them that is user error. almost everyone giving you advice could easily crank their gain and still not blow subs just because they pay attention and have some experience. When you get tired of burning cash you will start to learn

Okay so a lot of people can turn gain completely up and still not clip but majority of people telling me you can't turn gain up without clipping being present...

That is not what i said

thats not what he said.. he said people can turn gain up and not burn up gear because they know what they are doing.. dont mean they are not clipping they just know where to stop giving them knob

thanks miguels, and some people gain on a meter with a little bit of clipping. Just depends on how much money you want to risk for the gains.
