Recommended Posts

My DaD bought a rotozip when they first came out and had like a 3 hour deal on tv well we ordered it i think we paid almost $400 for it and we have yet to use it on any projects IMO they are as useless as a bag of dog shit

just get a router. a rotozip is worthless on mdf unless you just drilling holes and i'm pretty sure you already got a drill. it's only good on drywall. if the cost of a router is not in your budget, i would rather get a crappy jigsaw instead.

youre not suppose to drill holes with it, thats why you have a drill, you cant drill a hole with those things and theyre not meant to be doing that.

I have a Rotozip Z1 (I think)...I actually use it quite often.

I did however make a MUCH more stable FLAT PERCH than the shitty plastic one that comes with it...

The 1 time (B4 I made the reinforced perch) I used the Rotozip with a ROUTER BIT in it...the stock-plastic perch/fence bent, and caught on the spinning router bit...=el snappo.

After I built my own flat top/perch dealio (pics avail upon request) it's MUCH more easy to control and get useful cuts out of...I did also have to fashion multi-thickness spacers (2 in 3/16" plexi and 1 in 1/4" mdf) to adjust the cut depth/height or the router bits.

It's handy SOMEtimes....and lighter weight than a router, good for "minor cuts/grinds" & thin metal with a cutoff wheel" but if you wanna CUT MDF.......It's ROUTER TIME ALL THE WAY!

The handiest feature I have found is using a metal cutoff wheel to cut sheet metal and screws/nails.

lol, i guess the sarcasm doesn't show on the computer. in any case, a rotozip would be good if you doing some bezel work. if you gonna use it in place of a router...................... hell no!
