Noobie with Airspace problem

Look at the box in the picture. That is the box. It looks to me like it is a 1.9 cubic foot box. Do you know how large a 5.7 cubic foot box is? (1.9 x 3) There is no way in hell that box is 5.7^3.

And it clearly states "total volume", not volume per chamber.

It looks like it could be 3.8 cubes. Doesn't look small enough to only be 1.9 total. But there is little context to the image.

If it's 1.9 total there isn't enough airspace to make it ported. You could play around with some 2x4 or stuffing to see if it makes any improvements though.

Pretty sure the image is with 2 12" cutouts, it doesn't change no matter what selections you choose. Unless it's a close fit for 12" subs.

Guess it is pretty damn shallow either way though.

Should be ok as it is then, unless OP can be bothered mucking around with 2x4 or stuffing.

Might pick up some polyfill and some wood and mess about with it. Before i do that i need to find a rattle i have in my hatch thats absolutely killing me X_X

Yeah but doesn't hurt to experiment. A bigger box plays lower and is more efficient.

It's already big, but it's kind of a waste to just fill box volume with dead space. Just got to be mindful of excursion.

Best option would be another sub/bigger subs. But that's a bit more than some $10 experimentation.

Box looks like 2 cube net to me. Run your pair of 10s sealed and you'll be happy enough. The box is a bit to narrow to effectively port it IMO and sealed box is VERY forgiving if you're off on "optimum" airspace.

Run it sealed, you should like it like that. Come back later to tell us how it sounds, how you like it. We'll see if you need to add something in the box to reduce box volume.

Or get a ported box made for your sub, and for your car.

that box is only 9" deep, so im pretty sure its only 2 cubed total. You could just go measure the damn thing.
