DLHgn Posted November 15, 2016 Report Share Posted November 15, 2016 I did a thing when I got home today. About 25 minutes of work. I cardboard mapped out where I want to install my Fix86 and B2 DSP. They will be going under the passenger front seat. I have a couple tricks i will use to keep them safe and not flopping around. But anyways.. I like these RCA's. I plan to wrap this all in Tesa tape so it should look good. They will need DC power run here, Remotes run in and out, and also high level into the JL. That will also be Tesa Taped. But here is my thought process so far. Then I did another thing. NOT EVEN THE FIRST OIL CHANGE AND THE HEADLINER IS OUT! LOLOLOLOLOL. What am i doing in this life? A freaking brand new car. Anyways...... Its actually a pretty nicely built OEM headliner. Something about those RCA's make me happy. As for the headliner, at least you got it done and it's not like you tore it apart. I'm assuming it went back on just fine. At least when you're done with the sound deadener your car will be even more quiet than it probably is on the inside! Swordlordboy1234 Posted November 15, 2016 Author Report Share Posted November 15, 2016 One of the two Damp pro boxes. We used about half the box so far and i have done my trunk floor and my roof. First two steps taken... I shoved overkill and overkill pro into the gaps in the roof braces. I did this to try to cut down on echoing inside the panel. I am trying not to use great stuff in this car for obvious reasons. I also put the Damplifier Butyl rope on all the seams of the roof braces. I did this to kinda help stop them from flexing by having some butyl in-between them also. On with the first layer. Forgot to add this one. Butyl all done. Ended up using about 1.5 rolls doing this. I plan on using more in the doors and maybe ordering more if it calls for it. This is about 4 hours in. We did 3 freaking painstaking layers on this roof and a 4th layer sheet in the middle of the front and back centers. We also did 1 layer near the edges of the roof where other plastic clips needed to exist. THIS PART SUCKED. SOOOOO much second skin. A close up of the back area. About 30 pairs of gloves later. Here we are. Headliner back in. Let me tell you it was a tight fit. I was about 1 layer away from not getting it back up. The dots on the roof are bugs not dirt. And thats about all for now. The roof is SOLID as F***. But anyways. Thats all the updates. Tons more deadening. Still waiting on Tesa Tape. Still waiting on 12v metal works. Still got to wire the car.
