WillistonAudioLabs
I've noticed the past few years the Behringer amps have been pretty popular. I've seen some tests of the larger amps NU3000 and such, but nobody I could find had tested the $149 NU1000. Alrighty then, time for BigD to buy one and try it on the Dyno! Triticum Agricolam
It's unfortunately that Behringer markets their amps based on their "Peak" output, not RMS and even then its still inflated. That amp is rated at 750 watts RMS bridged in to 4 ohms, which it still didn't reach, but at least it got closer to. I've seen other tests done on these amps on some home audio forums and they pretty much had the same results as Dereck did. I've had a nu3000 DSP for a couple years now and I've been very happy with it. I bought mine knowing what to expect in terms of output capacity. Despite the amp not putting out its rated power, I've been very satisfied with mine, the DSP functionality is awesome and I've never had any issues with the amp. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. If Behringer would just market their amps as what they really are (the nu1000 as a 600 watt amp and the nu3000 as a 2,000 watt amp) I think that would eliminate about 90% of people complaints about them. At their actual output capacity there still isn't anything that really comes close to them in price. I have a similar Crown amp that I know isn't making gobs of power but it has plenty for the price.
ShadeTreeMechanic
I have the inuke 6000 four channel on my DJ setup. No DSP but I use the built in crossovers. It seems to have enough power for what I am doing. Since you have the 4ch version, I'd say 1000w per channel, which is still pretty insane!
