These vents in the trunk flap around annoyingly below 30Hz.

I think I'll mat the inside and out, but havent decided yet.  I have a few dry days ahead of me so I can sleep on it.

I was just going to come in and look for progress you read my mind. When do you think you'll have it playing?

Thanks for checking.  Its been playing, but at low power.  Once I mount the two braces and cut the 1"x2" rect channel, I need to have it welded up.  Or take the plunge and buy a welder.  I plan to start on the wood ceiling this weekend.

Man, if I was a skilled welder, I would just do that.  I damn near put a drillbit thru the roof, so I dont plan to drill that beam anymore.  Although, the tension/engagement of the bolts felt really nice.  I can see this nutsert tool really coming in handy to mount equipment, panels, amp racks, etc so I do recommend owning one.

I think that it would just be easier to drill holes in whatever your attaching to the roof and then fill/spot weld each hole, that's just me though. Welding the edges would be doable but overhead welding isn't the most fun thing ever in general.

Scraped away some stock dampener directly beneath the port and installed some rivet nuts

I plan on installing a bolt thru the floor, too.

IMG_0387.jpg

Planning the windshield pole... I think this turnbuckle is going to make things awesome.  More to come soon.

Pole comes up thru here

And will be welded on this other bracket

Tried kerfing freehand.  Doesnt work out well at all.  Straight, parallel cuts are absolutely necessary for a good steady bend.

IMG_0402.jpg

So instead I used the kerf trash to make a mockup of a wannabe circle

IMG_0406.jpg

Worked pretty well.  I'll recut and get to work on these 8s soon.  Trying to get everything done for Slam.

Thanks for looking.

I sketched up the ceiling bracket and floor bracket in CAD and had a vendor (that I know thru my job) fab it up.  They used a press brake to bend the easy angles and then welded the tougher angles.

Im going to the metal store today to grab some 1" x 2" hollow tube (1/8" wall) for the upper section of the pole.

Once I get all the angles and lengths cut perfectly, I'll remove everything out of the car and have a welder zip it all up.  Now I need to find a skilled local welder...
