So about that 6K.

I felt like the amp needed a support mid-span.  Some aluminum was bent, cut, and drilled.

Although this is going to need a different stain soon.  More on that later

Brake upgrade next weekend.  Rear drums will be upgraded to discs.

Front 11" discs will be upgraded to 12".  Wheels are filthy.

Got back from Vegas and took the rest of the week off.  Time to finish up these doors!

Started by gluing up every seam on the interior of the door panels.  

Then used expanding foam in the cavernous areas

On the door, I had to finish matting the interior of the outer door panel. 

Then placed a corrugated plastic panel over the window motor to prevent butyl from getting all over the motor.  I also started matting the gaping hole in the inside of the interior panel (on the right side of the picture).

Then, with a continuous sheet of mat, overlay the 'outside' of the interior panel

Damn, such a tiring task.  The hole on the left side is left open so the door pods can fire into the door.  The total volume in the door is ~2 cuft, which is just about right for the flutes. Although, I havent ported the door yet.

First few coats of stain on a pod, this pic is showing off how form-fitted this pod is.  Thats important so it can seal off the interior of the door as good as possible.

I tried this weatherstripping, but it wasnt thick enough.

Heres a test fit of the foam I ended up using.

Here the pods are shown with 3 coats of Dark Walnut stain and 3 coats of Helmsman outdoor urethane...

Also prepped the tweeters.  CDT 1" silk dome tweets.  Smooth.  Each pair measure 1.7ohm, so that'll push my 125.2 amp to its full potential.

Very nice! I just got new rotors and pads delivered for my 370z I need to put on soon, track driving is hard on them lmao.  Quite a bit less work than a drum to disc conversion though lol

So today the brace came out.  Its getting dropped off at the powdercoater on Friday.  

As I removed the pole, I noticed a tear forming on the windshield beam

I'm dropping the car off at a neighbor's body shop tomorrow.  Gonna have them double-weld all the spot-welds at the pinch seam with a special spot welder they have there.  I expect this metal to tear again in the future, but next time I'll be ready to reinforce it myself!  Thanks for looking.

Man, all this bass-weight ate up my stock brakes in no time!  And i'm not really driving it hard.  I am indeed over the load capacity of the car when I sit in it (700 pounds bassweight, plus 190lbs of me), so I'm straining some of the components a bit - brakes, suspension, and driveline included!  Considering how cheap this car is, when it breaks, I'll just upgrade the component or beef it up.
