DANG this woodgrain looks sharp. This is from the 1" 15-ply

Planning to use this 1" for the sub-wall face. Also may stain everything that can be seen from inside the cabin. I was inspired by David Clark's old build, sh*t looked SICK when the 2x12 boards on the sub wall were sandblasted, torched, and urethane'd. Unprecedented.

I'm not going that balls-deep on this build, but I like me some nice wood grain. Jeff (low.n.louddd) has some nice stain-jobs, too. We'll see what I end up with as the project progresses.

Looks a lot better with the new grill and fogs. I like the bracing as well. Makes me not want to be so plain with squares and rectangles when I do my next enclosure.

I had bought the 9-fuse block from Jims Machinewerx, which was probably overkill by about 2 fuses (as planned). Although, it leaves room to install a power inverter and other gadgets. It also allows for future expansion.

Its mounted on the driver side of the trunk and the mid & high amps are on the passenger side of the car. I decided to have a custom fuse block quoted by 12V Metalworks since Juan resides in Houston. I sent him this drawing:

I've read a lot of good and bad things about 12V Metalworks. Particularly, Karkov's trouble with getting his parts made (bummer, man). I'm not in a rush for this fuse block since I'm waiting on some other supplies. It took over a week for Juan to reply and about a month for this item to ship, but its precisely what I expected and it looks great. The custom 4/0 in and (2) 1/0's out is on the bottom. The one on top is a standard (2) 1/0 in & out for my wife's car:

I'll be installing this soon when my tweeter amp arrives. It will keep my mid/tweeter cables about 4' shorter for both + and - runs. 16' of cable saved, and allows me to use up some 4/0 I have lying around. I also liked the idea of ordering customized parts that I designed from a local small-business man (here in Houston). I may sell my Jim's block in the future so I can get a custom block with all 4/0 inputs and 1/0 outputs. Not sure yet, but customizing this stuff is more fun to me than making 'stock' parts work out.

Luck = actually receiving my part. Haha for sure. Around week 3 i thought i was gonna have to get a refund.

Wasnt paying attention to my tone generator, it was actually playing a triangle wave, which is why the 24Hz vid sounds a bit weird. Im gonna prop the subs up a bit differently and set it back up. The suspension is quite stiff, and its finally cold in here in Texas, so i think breaking these in on a 'test stand' is a good idea.

Im working on the new bracing today. Im also thinking about painting the whole interior and port white instead of glassing.

Also, if i can maintain a nice grain finish on the exterior, staining the exterior of the box would be nice. I would appreciate some comments on my thoughts on color/stain and the choice to avoid resin. How necessary is it to resin the interior of the box versus painting?
