06RTCharger
Have you messed with the "input voltage" switch on the left side of the amp?
cheatcode
I'm speechless. I had it set to high this whole time and didn't realize it until now. Problem solved!
MrSkippyJ
aside from the fact that you are just arbitrarily turning your source down so you can for some reason turn the gains higher on your amp, have you considered that your amp just might be fucked up? cheatcode
mrskippy, as i've said before, my amp is not the issue. what i'm doing isn't arbitrary at all, nobody who's running even a half decent setup is going to set their gains with their volume at 100% just because their hu doesn't clip there. you set it at 3/4 or maybe a little bit higher because if you set it at full volume and run an RTA and have to boost any frequencies at all you could potentially be clipping them and then you're left with absolutely 0 headroom. arbitrary is setting your volume at full blast to get more voltage when your volume is set to 100% because you think that's giving you some huge advantage. 06RTCharger
I thought u cut frequencies if anything? You dont boost. Cut peeks to match valleys. Not raise valleys to match peaks.
06RTCharger
To me the point of using a %100 clean max volume, is to match ur amps %100 clean max output. So when ur headunit is at %100 maxed out clean volume, ur amps is also at %100 maxed out clean output. Are you trying to get %100 max clean output from ur amp with ur headunit at 26 volume? cheatcode
i'm done with this thread. i hope an admin comes and deletes the entire thing ..and for the record, in case you didn't catch my sarcasm, the input voltage wasn't the issue, i had it correctly set to "low".
