If you install a fused charge lead as part of your upgrade and leave the stock charge lead in place, the fuse doesn't do you much good. If the upgraded charge lead is not fused, then all is OK. RedFred Posted May 25, 2017 Report Share Posted May 25, 2017 I always leave the OEM wires and assume electricity will naturally take the path of least resistance. The only reason to remove it is if you have a really cluttered wire mess in the engine bay. The benefit is that if any of your aftermarket runs come loose, maybe your OEM lines will be intact and you can continue as usual until you get time to fix it.
