ShadeTreeMechanic
A lot of people make their own. Check out this build: @the_garynator Just buy the aluminum bar and make them yourself. I did some conversions to get an idea of how big is needed to go, I could do a write up at some point but I'm a bit short on time at the moment because of my build lol. My .5" x 4" x 8' 6101 aluminum bars should be equivalent to running about 3 8ft runs of 4/0 ofc. For ~$70/each from onlinemetals.com, pretty dang good bang for your buck. RedFred
Awesome fellas, thanks for the advice ? We just picked up some aluminum today, so once we get back from the grandparents, the project should be under way to make some bars
Dragonsyph
Sorry for posting on an old thread, but im reseaching this subject in the terms of Busbar vs High strand OFC. My question is does it travel over the top of the copper? That's why you want high strand count wire because of more surface area? So wouldent the current just travel on the out side of busbars? And the whole inside is wasted? Or am i missing something? I guess if that's true, which has more surface area? 5200 strand 2 ot or a 1inch busbar? And then how much does the materal of the busbar matter? Its is like buying OFC vs aluminum clad wire? ♦ Sundown NSV4 18" + Sundown SALT-4 Baby ♦ MechMan Elite 370a + XS3100 - XP3000 ♦ SHCA 1/0 OFC(blue) + SMD Fuse Holders(blue) ♦ Pioneer AVH-2440NEX + SHCA Pro RCA
