1 Sundown Sa-8 v3 at 600 rms ok?

Hello people, I just joined this forum. I was searching for info on the power handling of this sub. But I didn't see much info on it. I was wondering if a sundown audio sa-8 v3 dvc 2 ohms can handle 600 rms at 1 ohms no problem? This is my first time using sundown audio equipment and I am coming from a kicker 1200.1 kx amp and 15" L7. I wanted to down size since the L7 in my custom box took up all my room in my 2013 mazdaspeed 3 hatcback. So far I am blown away by how good this little monster 8 inch sub sounds. Now when I bought this sa8 v3, I also bought the sundown audio sae 600D amp using 0/1 gauge wiring kit. So I am just trying to push this sub right about 600 rms at 1 omhs. I heard these subs are underrated and can handle way more power then 500 rms. I have a box custom made for this sub at 36hz. I will post the specs of the box. I just wanna make sure this sub is ok at 600 rms. I don't have the tools to check clipping, but I had best buy install my amp kit and the guy tuned the amp for me. He did it by ear which I am not a fan of. So I am gonna take it to another best buy near me and see if they can use whatever tool they use to make sure it doesn't clip. My head unit is the stock one with the navigation built in and it has the bose system. It can go up to 62 max for the volume, but I never take it past 45 since I don't notice a difference in volume when going from 45 to 62. I just installed the gain control that came with my sae 600d amp which is kinda nice. That sub should be fine on 600rms allday ,that's a great little sub.

Ok cool, I figured that sub could probably take it. I couldn't believe how heavy and great looking quality that speaker is. I think all my subs will be sundown audio now. Lol

It wouldn't hurt if you set your subsonic filter to 28-30Hz.

Here is my settings for my amp. I did not tune it. I am not sure how to tune without causing clipping. I have no tools to do it and I can't tell what listen for. So best buy did the tuning for me. But they don't have any tools to do it. They do it by ear.

Thanks, I wasn't sure If I liked the color once I got it in person. lol My interior is red and black. But there is no red in the back of the hatchback. lol

Do a search for the SMD Tools Map (November 2014). It has an up to date map showing some people with DD-1 and other tools to help set up equipment. You might be able to find someone in your area
