deadbroke
I have been riding around today and noticed the amp will go into protect when i give the truck some gas from a stop. I have a missing link audio voltage module in and the output is in the low 15s. When i give it throttle from a stop only one of my amps go into protect for a split second. Whats the deal how do i fix this. I have one of meades voltmeters measuring it so i think it must be the high voltage spike. System has a 270 amp alt and 300 amp alt, 3 group 31 batteries, 6 runs of 2/0 positive and negative, a t1000.4ad, a p400x4, and a t40001bd. SnowDrifter
Does it still protect if you turn down the voltage? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

3vil
Just curious here, are we talking about a gentle acceleration or are you launching from a dig at every stop sign? If it's only under heavy acceleration then sounds like a loose connection
deadbroke
Just a gradual acceleration. Since i had to retune my system i checked all the wires and reinstalled. Only variable on this amp is my tune and the mla voltage regulator.
deadbroke
Also i misread the earlier reply i don't know how to turn down the voltage. I turn the headunit down but the voltage module is not adjustable
reedal
Whats the specific model of your MLA? it should have some adjustment on it. More than likely, your voltage spike upon acceleration is higher than the amp can handle, causing over-voltage protect, and then when your voltage notmalizes, its fine. Kyblack76
That's my thought also. Easy troubleshoot. Meter, set on min-max, do your thing. When it does it, look at max. Bet there is a spike also. SMD SUPER SELLER The Burban Build Blazer Build sold Acura trunk build sold
SnowDrifter
Unplug the alternator and try again. I bet you it'll do the same thing if you were to rev the vehicle in neutral ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
ChevyBoy95
Sounds like when you rev you are getting higher voltage which is making the amp protect.
