Chase Wallace
Right, my view on what amp I need has totally changed. I no longer try to match the RMS, I try to double the RMS and set the gain correctly. It seems like I have a bunch of non believers but the difference is very noticeable. Looking back its probably more like 3x the power because the amp is under rated but whatever, people can believe what they want. The difference is something that you can actually feel in your chest when I turn it up lol.

Careful using 3x rated as a set it forget it type of deal, that will for sure give some woofer/enclosure combinations a run for its money, ever try doing this with an fi bl?, Dont. Better to know what a specific driver can take instead of running 3x rated to all

No less than double and preferably more. Speakers can take way more than rated and do. This is why you buy known named quality brands, the more power the better the results. All people want is Power. Or that they can take it for 2 minutes before the coil smells. My Build Log
