cichlidfort
So for the folks that have been into car audio a long time, have any of you guys noticed any hearing loss? Just curious... kingsuv
Nope none. Was tested last year and was 100% good Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out. not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
BigPimpin91
So for the folks that have been into car audio a long time, have any of you guys noticed any hearing loss? Just curious... I've often pondered starting a thread about this. Thanks cichlid. I do believe frequency has A LOT of effect in the damaging equation. 130db at 40hz sounds loud but doesn't hurt. 130db at 3000hz will make you snap your hands to your ears and beg for it to stop. PaulO2288
Ditto, Been around it building and listeing for about 10 yrs and my hearing is just as good from day 1. Get tested every year in school and from doctor. The older I get the better my hearing picks up higher frequencies. Weird as hell, But I like it lol

BigPimpin91
Thanks guys...Anyone else that would beg to differ with their experiences? I always wore ear plugs in my buddy's 4 15" Set-up in an Explorer. (145 MAX. Pre-Fab's FTL!) He can hear higher than I can and hear random things I usually ignore. ISO
All the high frequencies seem intacked but I have noticed some issues with low frequencies. Example say if I have the water running in the sink I have trouble hearing people talking to me when they are 10 feet away. and I can't spell it but some minor tindunites(constant ring in the ears) everything can be dead silent and my ears just have a minor ringing, it will get louder as time goes on. Fom what I have heard it is possibly a worse situation than hearing loss. but nothing to bad. All my systems have averaged 130+DB on the subwoofer section. my mids and tweets I usually keep them down. I feel I have the opposite symptoms of a construction worker. They usually loose the high frequency range first. This has taken 10 years to develope. Quote Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one. EricM9104
I don't think I have any major hearing loss. I have some tinnitus. Lower freq's are better in my left ear, mids/highs are better in my right ear. Haha.
