Need help with distribution block

Hey there, this is my first build so please forgive if this is a super noob question.

I want to buy 2/0 welding wire to make positive and negative runs to my sub amp and battery in the trunk.

I will have 2 PPI 1000.4 amps mounted under the front seats for mids/highs.

I'd like to get a distribution block to put near my front seat where my 2/0 wires can branch off to the mids/highs amps. I need the 2/0 wires to be able to continue to the trunk though. I was going to run 8 gauge wire to power/ground my mids/highs amps.

I'm having trouble finding the right distribution block for this situation. It seems I need a block that will take 2/0 wire in and out as well as having 2 more outputs that can do 8 gauge wire.

Am I thinking about this wrong? Maybe I need 2 two blocks?

Any advice is appreciated.

Just about any with a set screw you will be able to use technically

now if you only have two runs of 8guage in the back then there is no need for 2/0 that’s probably why you are having a problem

another option is change the 8ga to 4ga and use adapters at the amp

also 2/0 welding wire will be about the same size as sky high 1/0 or any other over sized car audio wire

moral of my rambles get something’s that accepts 1/0 in and 4ga out

This is what i did to my Lancer. Left to Right: 2 SHCA 1/0 runs into 2 Kenetic HC1800's. Battery's to a SMD fused distribution Block to amp. 2 of the 3 4 gauge runs go up under the front seats to amps. Ground distribution block on bottom right . 2 batery;s under the hood with a Singer 220 amp alt.

Thanks for this post, very nice.

What is going on with the positive wire that seems to be going from the block, back to battery, then back to block again?

Also, is it necessary to run heavy wire for negative from battery under the hood all the way to trunk or did you just run a ground from batteries in the trunk to a nearby spot on the car chassis?

Left to Right: Power runs from under the hood to fuse block, fuse block to battery, running 4 amps so i need 4 power supplies. First battery distribution post was a 4-way, thru & thru. I used a 6-way post for what i needed.

Always use same gauge positive & negative runs.

Why are you running a ground run?

There is better voltage had on the chassis or frame ground

Me? I am running my grounds from the spare tire mount bolt.

I added more sound deadening material and carpeted the spare tire area. Big solid bolt grounding 4 SHCA 1/0 ofc wire, and battery tray.

Kenetic battery trays for mounting. 3/4 MDF carpeted. Trunk in two pieces, under enclosure is made of 3/8 w/ it and the box bolted down to the car.

I thought about this set up for awhile before i decided on it.

I will be using a similar theme in the Malibu but withthe equipment under the plexi glass for looks and function.
