SesameCreeps
Im getting a custom high output alternator built and they asked what the sweet spot is for this amp. It has a 6 - 0.2 volt input but they said they need the sweet spot the amp likes. Any ideas being i dnt own one yet. Thank you

SesameCreeps
sorry if this is a dumb question but isnt the input 6 - 0.2? Says on the specs. Or is that a different voltage?

AaronT
You better brush up on how this stuff works or it's going to be a very very expensive hobby when you're at the mercy of others for doing things for you And whoever is building that alt is taking you for a ride big time

Or is that a different voltage? That is the gain setting for the RCA wire input voltage from the radio that the amp so that the gain will match the RCA preout voltage from the radio, it is nothing to really worry about, and totally not needed info for the alternator. The alternator builder is wanting to know how many amps to build the alternator for, usually you want to go as big as you can or as big as you can afford. Ideally for a 3000 watt amp you will want somewhere around 250amp to a 300amp alternator.
Ron36
Make sure the Alt gets good amps at idle so if it’s a 250amp Alt try for 200amps at idle. 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery

AaronT
Haven't seen many 250s that go above 150-160 at idle. I'd contact Johnathan Patrick at brand X electrical
