ptcary
you need to hurry up and rig an amp up to it so you can at least get a taste for how its going to sound. test vids ftw I know, I know, I can kick myself for pulling my old amp out, coulda used that to test with. But I pulled out the power wire and everything! I'm trying to be patient and do this one step at a time, and every day I see something new here on SMD that gives me a new idea for it, so I need to take it slow! Steve, I took a step today to remain true to your design, and ordered the mirrors for the chamber! Nothin like looking back into it and seeing subs everywhere! Also ordered some Selenium 6w4p's and a pair of Selenium tweeters that will be used as a component set for rear fill. Please believe me when I say, that I can't wait to hear this thing for the first time, too, just like you all want vids! I have been riding around since I started it with only my front components and center channel powered off my head unit! No beat at all! NONE! I will order some wiring in the next few days, just have to figure out what all I need for Big 3, power and ground runs to the rear battery, speaker wire, and 6 sets of RCA's, too! AAAAAAARGH! Oh, and the Kinetik HC1400 is a few mm to big to fit in the front, so I have to remove the factory battery tray and mod it get just a few more. Pray for me, and I'll keep y'all posted. trainman0978
Yeah, this shit is bad ass. I got tired of seeing Pt cruisers a few years ago, cause everybody and their brother was buying the "nostalgic" looking little wagons. But now, thanks to you , I kinda see them in a whole new light. I also like how you have plenty of room behind the wall to install all of your amps and what not. Keep going like you are and you will be able to brag to anybody about your installation skills 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Voo Doo Blue my upgrades and "build" thread. ptcary
No wiring yet, still researching pricing on 1/0 on the web, welding cable is looking oh so good now!. I decided to place the amps in front of the wall in the rear footwells where they will get some a/c and be better off in these TX summers. That'll save me some money buying shorter 1/0! I want to put the HC600 under the amp rack in the drivers rear footwell. That also leaves the rear hatch space for grocery shopping days! UPS guy was nice, and delivered the Selenium 6" and tweets last night. Can you say "huge tweeters!" Mounted them kinda low in the wall sides, so that the seat will block them from getting too loud and overpowering all the front speakers. Tested them with the head unit powering them, pretty nice speakers! Amp rack getting some paint on bedliner: Test fit: My old Hifonics amp, 6 yrs old! Had to get a bass cut knob so I can demo it "like Steve does" ...that's all for this weekend.... the mirrors for the sub tunnel are supposed to be deivered on Monday!
