aburger
I have a basic question for the group. I'm building a ported budget enclosure for (4) Sundown E8 v6's. I'm planning to run them with an Incriminator IA10.1 which is rated at 1200w @1 Ohm. It seems that most amps these days create over their rated power. My question is, do I design the sub enclosure based on the rated power, or should I add some and design the enclosure for say 1300w or so? I've never seen this amp dyno'd so the over rated power would just be an estimate. I'm open to any suggestions as I would like to build this as correctly as possible the first time. aburger
Heard back from Incriminator. According to their dyno, the IA10.1 will put out 1430w @ 1ohm. I'm going to use that rating for my box design.
MrSkippyJ
if it were me I would design for rated specs not dyno specs. aburger
Thanks for your input. Do you mind if I ask why? Just want to make sure I'm making the right decision here...only want to build once.
Ron36
Voltage is constantly changing in a car when your system is playing and that changes the amp output . Your electrical in a car is different then a dyno set up. 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery
aburger
Thanks for the explaination, I didn't think about that. I guess I'll redesign for rated power.
