AMMAY Posted December 8, 2006 Report Share Posted December 8, 2006 Is it bad to put a rocker switch in the remote wire to turn it off quickly? Ive always had one inline for when the po-pos roll by and ive never had problems but i was just curious. I also kill the subs 3-4 miles before getting to a parking lot or my neighborhood. Not only does it hide the fact that I got something, it also lets the battery get a good charge. You shouldnt have anything to worry about. Ernesto Posted December 8, 2006 Report Share Posted December 8, 2006 i dont do it to turn it off all the time, i only use it in emergencies like when you see the po-lice nearby and dont have time to wait 4 secs while holding the off button on the HU...they are assholes when it comes to noise ordinances... I never got a thump at all. its not like i installed the switch between the big guage power wire, i installed mine between th remote wire. Or there is that other time like when you see a cop and turning the volume down isnt fast enough, just hit the kill and the bass amps go by by.
