Is it bad to put a rocker switch in the remote wire to turn it off quickly? Ive always had one inline for when the po-pos roll by and ive never had problems but i was just curious.

I also kill the subs 3-4 miles before getting to a parking lot or my neighborhood.  Not only does it hide the fact that I got something, it also lets the battery get a good charge.

You shouldnt have anything to worry about.

i dont do it to turn it off all the time, i only use it in emergencies like when you see the po-lice nearby and dont have time to wait 4 secs while holding the off button on the HU...they are assholes when it comes to noise ordinances...

Hit the pause button or mute...Or get a bass knob :^

I use a switch to. no harm at all. I never got a thump at all. its not like i installed the switch between the big guage power wire, i installed mine between th remote wire. I usually use the switch whenever my mother sits in the car with me, or whenever the bass gets "too" much for me, rare occasion though

i also have an emergency kill switch on the remote lead that ive actually had to nail on a few times in a quick hurry at a show.....like when i smell circuitboard or voicecoil.  Or there is that other time like when you see a cop and turning the volume down isnt fast enough, just hit the kill and the bass amps go by by.

theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer

my kill switch does that same pop if i turn the headunit off b4 the amp. i also get a buzz that sounds like a 55hz tone full blast if the radio is off when i have the amps on. i use my factory radio so maybe theres something with that

thats why, when using an LOC and no signal is sent, espceially no high input signal, it will send "noise" to the amps
