Recommended Posts

alright so i have two computers and im tryin to hook both of them up to the internet without having to get another modem and paying twice as much. im wondering if i could hook up both computers to the same modem. im not sure how to do it but do you think its possible to get a usb splitter and splitting the connection between the two computer or do i have to get a network box thing and hook it up to that? and other ideas would be great, thanks alot guys!

you could also put another network card in one, bridge the connection and run network cable from the one card to the other computer like this

your best bet is definatly the router cause if you do the 2 nic card scenario youll also need whats called a crossover cable cause your tx and rx will be crossed i would think but yeh a router is plug and play for hard wired app's good luck!

yeah on this and I would get a wireless router lock it to your 2nd comp only of course, but just do that so you can put the second comp anywhere you want. Oh the 2nd comp will need a wireless card also.

I'm JS, that if you have the extra parts lying around you could do it the way I showed. A router is a much better choice but the way I posted works just as good.
