j_black10
screws basically do nothing for it, and brads are pretty much just there to hold it. ive proven that time and time again. i can understand the perception that it will fail though without something besides glue. and thanks for the compliments as well. Well I've seen TOO many boxes come apart that were just glued. Air Pressure is a BEAST! I myself have gone away from using screws, but I do use glue, brads nails or staples, and liquid nails. Also braces! I personally just don't trust glue alone. But again, nice box and install homie! More pics please!!!!!!! LSN2meBoom916
I'm a lil late here but I was waiting for some serious pix to show up and it even says slow build/will take a while in thread title, so I figg'd I'd just wait it out...that said... Nice work on the deadening...takes me back...same coler and everything. I feel your pain on the finger and knuckle cuts, and I was using cascade which doesn't even have a foil element to it...but I've done few cars in FatMat and the hands just get raped on the sharp foil edges. Are you doing the headliner/roof too? thats the only thing I didn't do and have seen no ill effects of skipping it. When you do the doors if you havn't yet, I wouldnt underestimate the importance of doing the outer skin and the interior door body...them outer mouldings still have a tendencey to chatter when the doors are flexin in and out. <---Concerned about not seeing ANY bracing inside the box. That shot of the old breaker is classic....wow, nice RUST. jebus. Please use a liquid sealant on the aeros....tape is so ghetto looking. The whetherstripping is a better idea, but truthfully I'd silicone/liquid nails/window caulking etc, or an actual glue for that matter, rather than ghetto rig it w/ tape. Forevrbumpn
i do ALOT , i just never feel the need to post any Yeah well, more build logs or get the BAN! HAHA, JK, looks good man, nice box build there I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
Dale
i knew that there was something different about the box that made it look clean. no screws!! im glad you did it that way because finally some people here will realize that it is really the glue that holds the box together. Great work man...I agree with the rest of the guys when they say you should post more of your builds.
