Im telling you They aint compareable in any way. one was designed as a SPL MONSTER, the other is a SQ woofer period. even in the low 30's the BTL will kill the XXX in output there is no comparision, the XXX will kil the BTL in SQ . AI James Posted August 6, 2008 Report Share Posted August 6, 2008 why vcant i compare the btl to the xxx iahve already owned the btl and was happy with it but im wondering if the output of the xx is compareable to the btl...so what makes them different both are saposed to be loud... and i know there is a dd dealer in hawaii I personally dont care for the way dd's sound to me they are like kickers on roids.... I have done research and not many people have owned the new XXX there are very little reveiws and even less videos... there is an re dealer in hawaii so getting the XXX wont be a problem... so what are the strong points of each and and the low.. I hear contradicting peole saying that the XXX wont take more than 2500 and others saying the have ran 3000 daily and burped 6000.... does the new btl have better sound quality? is the XXX meant for spl or SQ? re dealer or not, they dont make them anymore Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Forevrbumpn Posted August 6, 2008 Report Share Posted August 6, 2008 I think either way, for either use, the BTL with daily options would be best bet From what I was told, by a guy from the main company is that the XXX new design was meant for SQ, but failed, due to dual vc dual gap design, the woofer only wants to go for high excursion due to the design, hence the rediculously high QTS on the XXX The QTS is the quality factor, the higher the number, the more PEAKY the electrical, and Resonance peaks, basically a built in EQ in the subwoofers design with a Fs of like 16hz or whatever it is, it should be more of a constant bass rumble closer to that area The BTL has a much lower Quality factor, about half that of the XXX meaning it has a more natural flat response out of the box (or as they were tested) Just in my experience- Thats what the specs mean And that is what I was told, atleast on the first run of the XXX subs about 2years ago David your definitly right, XXX was meant and designed as a SQ sub, and the BTL was designed as SPL , but I think the BTL is the winner, as almost always I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
