DUBIE
so after i install, if i dim a little bit, would a better battery most likely fix it? adding extra battery(s) would help..it will only be for a while thoug..it would always be better upgrading a bigger alt.. wL<3bass
adding extra battery(s) would help..it will only be for a while thoug..it would always be better upgrading a bigger alt.. You need a good battery and a good alt not one or the other but both....and the closer you put the secondary battery to the amp the better off you would be. EricM9104
WRONG, some cars hella dim with a measly 400 watts and lights run on a un-regulated power supply, hence dimming from a slight voltage drop. MECHMAN
and lights run on a un-regulated power supply, hence dimming from a slight voltage drop. A 500 watt ampplifier usually draws between 30-40 amps at full volume. Most all vehicles are built with only as much alternator as they require, (although it varies from vehicle to vehicle) In order to eliminate voltage drop, and to be able to play the system indefinitely without eventually running down the battery(s), it would be good engineering to increase the charging systems capability by 30-40 amps. You won't have huge problems, but the headlights might dim a little, and your system might not get as loud as it could be with more available current. Clocksta
well i just figured it shouldnt be to bad with only 500watts and it only being for some highs/mids, no subs yet so yeah
MECHMAN
well i just figured it shouldnt be to bad with only 500watts and it only being for some highs/mids, no subs yet so yeah You probably won't have any dimming running just mids and highs, they just don't draw nearly as much power as subs do. missinglink
The sub amps will draw more power of course mainly on the lower 30hertz tunning range. You need alot more solid power and storage to hold the low notes!!! X2 mids and highs they should be fine, duel batteries are a good idea for most audio applications anyway.
