Texas Tech
Reme from the show unique whips i think, actually i think i am wrong but yea, I was watching him build 2 boxs for the hummer for the JL subs, and he put the whole box together and then cut the circle out for where teh mounting of the sub goes with a jig saw. I know hes that good, and hes that good at cutting circles with a jig saw, but have any of you guys done that. Eddy722
Maybe it was just weird TV editing. The chamber would have wood dust all in it.. maybe he just forgot.
andym85
thats how i always do (until i get a jasper jig for my router)...alot of people dont cut the sub hole until its all together to keep the saw dust and cut out in the box and not all over the ground...then they vaccum it up...everyone has their own techniques...really isnt that big of a deal... i likes me some audio stuff... Texas Tech
did you sand the edge of the cut out afterwards or not? Baylor University Accounting
ChevyBoy
thats how most people cut out the holes, are with jig saws.
andym85
if it needs it then sand it...inner circles arent that big of a deal because nobody sees them...but if u are gonna counter sink it, then the outer circle needs to look good, and would take a lil skill with a jig saw... i likes me some audio stuff... Forevrbumpn
every time I see remy make a box, I see him use wood ring templates, cut a basic hole with a jigsaw, then copy that template with a router. Look at his wood shop, all them rings hangin on the wall ;-) sure he BUYS them from Select Doubt Will would let him take a day off of installing to copy speaker mounting templates I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
