15" Sub

I never said anything about 4hrs, hell, 4 minutes, even 30 minutes realistically- isn't realistic, nor 4 hrs

realistic or not thats what the Original poster asked for is my point.

As for Pierce, he also stated that the original WMD was one of the best sounding subwoofers available...NOT

and your telling me that you will be listening to a single 15" sub full tilt for hours on end....somehow I don't think so, and why you would go with only 1 15" is beyond me.

i have no prblem listening to my solo x for several hours at a time

FULL TILT FOR HOURS ON END? I don't care how much of a basshead you are you can't listen to a loud setup....~150db for hours on end...otherwise your not gonna be able to hear very well for a few hours afterward and you'll have a throbbing headache.

I ran a DD 9515 on a VFL400.1 at near to full tilt for over an hour at a show and it started to smell.

I don't think there's many/any subs that can take heaps of power for that long, especially in relatively small airspace setups - with extended bumping you're even going to start heating the air in the box.

At the same time, it's not like we drive around playing sine waves... so the sub is probably seeing an average wattage much lower than the amps maximum output. Also box rise...
