Also, what is the significance of having 2 subs firing out and one sub firing in? Is it due to being able to save box space because of the displacement of the sub? Thanks for the replies in advance. loburbon Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 i cant tell much about why, but when i took my 15's out and inverted them my peak went from 45hz to 42hz. yes i do have a t/l and did test it. it's louder deeper and just has a better sound. By firing one sub inside the box and one outside it will throw the subs out of phase unless you wire one out of phase. There's really no benefit to that other than a cosmetic deal cause honestly it doesn't make sense having one in and one out. The only reason I have ever seen people do inverse mounting is for cosmetic reasons or to save .1-.2 cuft inside the box. Really .2 cubes inside the box isn't going to make that much of a difference.
