Brandon H: 2005 Kicker L7 15" 2004 HiFonics Brutus BXI1206 @ 1ohm 5.6 cubes @ 38Hz RedTop 140.8dB Jeremy D 2005 Kicker L5 12" Tsunami Class D @ 2ohms 4.6 cubes @ 31Hz 137.2 When we got back to the shop Brandon bought all the RF wire I had collecting dust. Upgraded his CD player from JVC(oldschool) to the new Pioneer DEH-P3800. Signal Increase 75%, Amp gain went from 95% to 35%. I ran 4 runs of 8 gauge RF speaker wire. So we retested it, 141.5dB, so he picked up some change. The guy that took home the Grand 1st (Best Setup) had 4 12" Mmats, the smaller comp amp. I don't know the specs of his enclosure but from the ear and eye, 13cubes tuned @ 38Hz, He had an Epic Meter in his car that read 149dB (I'm like there's no fuckin way), so I paid for him to get metered, he hit a 143.8 but only stayed at 141.2 constilly*. I took pic. and video's of his setup. Hell Brandon only has 15" of surface area where this guy had 48". Brandon has a staidy 1200 RMS where the other guy had 3000 RMS. And Brandon stayed 1dB low from matching him. We still got alot of room to move up. I'm about to rebuild Brandon's box, he built his himself, sounds great just looks like ass. So I'm cleaning everything up for him. And Jeremy has my old L5 setup, you can look at it on my cardomain page, which is posted at the bottom. But should have the pics and videos, of the other tonight, god his SUV was so clean. BIG-SEXY AUDIO Posted February 11, 2007 Author Report Share Posted February 11, 2007 Brandon's pretty much is hooked on it now, he and I was trying to get 141dB out of it but it just wasn't happening. So I'm going to build him a Pure SPL enclosure 5.5 tuned @ 38. His going to get a BX2006, the boy wants another 15" but I told him he's class would change and it would be a whole different ballgame, but we'll see. I wanting to run a single 15" with something that will push aleast 1800RMS, I can always turn shit down, run dual redtops, with a few runs of 0gauge. He'd get a good 141-142 staidy. Hell he kept a 140 for along time, 140.5 for about 30seconds. Well if I can make a 15" with 1k stay just 1dB under 48" with 3k. I'm denfinally doing something right. He just bought another 15" today. But it's gonna be about a week till I'm through with his new box, so I'll start taking pictures of the process. His either gonna have to run dual Hifonics amps(1ohm a pop), or invest in one of Kickers new 2ohm stable amps (ZX). I wish he would just stay in the class his in. He'd win more. He's hitting a good 141 now that we upgraded everything. And he's still running it in his box, I want a 5.5 @38Hz. But he's already bought the thing now.
