Gorilla Glue?

Recommended Posts

What's everyone think of this stuff?  That's all I got in the garage at the moment, how does it compare to say liquid nails or titebond?

i haven't used liquid nails.... but i have used titebond "i think 3"... but that gorilla glue is not joke... what u using it for ?

Box builds.  I think type 2 is the stuff everyone here uses.  I like the gorilla stuff cause its expanding, meaning itll seal up the box real nice.  I was just wondering how the strength of it compared to liquid nails/titebond.

liquid nails construction: projects     is amazing, gets extremely hard but does not expand.    I've never used gorilla glue , but i can tell you that this liquid nails would be hard to beat.

Obviously I just use it as a sealer, although it adds strength, i use screws and wood glue to hold together primarily

that gorilla glue is no joke its strong.. I myself think its just as strong if not stronger than liguid nails. I have and will always glue and screw my boxes together. also use gorilla glue to hold bracing together before i screw them down I use liguid nails in the seams of the box and glass over it to ensure tight seals.

i myself hate gorilla glue, its alright for marble and stuff like that but i made a box for the XXX's with it and they ripped it apart,  Gorilla Glue does not chemically bong the wood together, it just adheres them together.

i used to use liquid nail and switched to titebond (titebond 3). the liquid nails is awesome, but it is so damn messy and only provides surface adhesion. wood glue actually bonds the wood together and is a lot less messy. for mdf wood glue > liquid nails...as far as gorilla glue...idk

i likes me some audio stuff...

Don't use Liquid nails for boxes...

I use it on the edges and stuff to hold the wood together faster because it dries way faster than wood glue...However I built a box once for four 15" L7s using Heavy duty liquid nails and the front wall broke apart..

I had made a box for two 15" L7s out of liquid nails and it held together...

Lesson I learned from this...Don't use liquid nails for big boxes.

Tite Bond II is what I use for every thing now.

Gorilla glue is too expensive imo..Titebond is just as good as cost less.
