dlheights
I've been trying to make a decission as to what set-up I want to use. The first option is 4 kicker S12L7 12" L7's ran by 2 hifonics bx2005d 2000 watt amplifiers. Second option is 2 massive audio dmx stage 2 15"s with 2 p3000.1 3000 watt amplifiers. Any suggestions? Slinky
Out of those choices i would go with the kickers but i would use Power Acoustik a3000dbs instead of the hifonics amps. itd bump real nice! kickerlivinloud
I hope you have plenty of room and have plans for your electrical system. From the 2 choices you said, personally I'd go with the DMX's. Not as many ppl use them as say the kickers. I'm always trying to use different stuff then everyone else. Guess that just me. With that type of power your really gonna have to beef up your electircal!!! Jon Quote Incriminator Audio: No Chrome, No Carbon Fiber, No BS!! Ernesto
I'd go with the L7s
dlheights
I'll be punching up to a 300 amp alt, external battery, and the big 3. I mainly want to know about the dmx's. They are going to cost more, quite a bit more, and I wanted to know what they are like. No one has heard of them where im from. Are they worth it? dlheights
Slinky, you think I'll be disappointed with the dmx's? I mean i dont care about the extra cost. And maybe someone can educate me as to why do 4 comp vr's hooked upto a brutus amp hit 148 db?? I mean I'm not trying to question anyone here on their opinion of the brutus amplifier, but if its not that good, why is it pushing the vr's so nicely? Oh, and I've got a pca 2000d soundstream, would it be better to go with 2 pca2000d since ive got one already, or just buy 2 power acoustiks? Oh, and I've got a pca 2000d soundstream, would it be better to go with 2 pca2000d since ive got one already, or just buy 2 power acoustiks? I think a lot of folks hate on Hifonics amps due to them choking/burning up at LOW impedence. I know they are rated at 1ohm and claim to be stable there, but I personally would not run one below 2ohm mono as I KEEP hearing about the 1ohm and below mishaps. 1st: i'd check and make sure that 148db was on a TL mic rather than an A/C mic. I personally HAVE 4-CVR 12's, sealed in a hatchback and I pull those exact ###'s off my PG T1200.1-But ONLY on an A/C mic. Just saying double check that B4 making that ## Claim. TL's are sum tuff mothers. 2nd: I have heard that those Massive Subs need to be tuned REAL HIGH like 50hz+ or they crap-out/burn up. MIND you that is HEAR-SAY, but I did hear it and it was 2nded by a few other folks so I'm saying MAYBE not the best subs for a DAILY setup where you wanna tune lower for MUSIC, but if you're looking for a pure SPL/burp setup that might be right up ur alley. 3rd: L7's are great subs. They get very loud in ported boxes, however I have heard complaints agains their SQ. But then again, I've heard prolly just as much FOR their SQ if the box is proper. So I guess only roll w/ the L7's if you're confident you can build it JUST right or rebuild until it is. I can only speak for the CVR line personally as that is, and has been "my bag" for quite some time. Hope that helps. dlheights
Yeah, it was on the TL. My friend just bought one of them because he does a lot of builds and testing. I've never used the a/c mic. But thanks for the insight on the brutus and massive's. It'll be for daily driving. And thanks for clearing a lot of it up for me, I appreciate it. I just don't want to blow out $1400 on a system to be dissappionted. What are some other fairly cheap amps to run with 4 kicker L7 12's?
