accord_exr Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 will expanding foam stop trunk rattle on the trunk lid? not my trunk, but will it work in the oval parts? thank 4 da help bra. Quote Team Deadly Hertz
Torres Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 it'll help stop the vibration in the trunk lid itself...but it wont help around the edges where it meets the car. the rubber gasket will help a little, since it forms the seal between the two metals to stop rain, but it wont be rattle proof most likely. depends on how much power you're running of course Quote
Noobtastic14 Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 yes it will stop the rattle but that is all. put the hose as far into the hole as possible, following the frame and pull the trigger. as soon as it starts flowing thru the tube pull it out slowly leaving a solid stream of foam from the max hose length to the hole. DONT OVER DO IT. it will buckle your trunk lid and be visible from the outside. i have it in my trunk lid and in the frame under my hood and have had good results, I've seen other high school students butcher it so you will get mixed reviews. do it right and you wont have problems, fuck it up and you will have a big mess -Drew Quote I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. dB Don Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 When you foam up any spaces use low expansion window and door spray foam it will not buckle the sheet metal if used properly. David Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 its also very messy, tape off any areas you dont want foam to get on. personally I would do a little bit at a time wait for it to fully cure then add to it gradually otherwise when u open your trunk you will find a nasty mess. Quote
