Shyne151
That might be the issue. It's weird though because lets say I am playing rap on volume level 21...highs cut out. Play some pop like Michael Jackson on same level or up a notch or 2, the highs are fine. What do you have your HPF set to? and are the gains properly set on the amp? raytard
if its just junk music, you may be damaging them i play a lot of mixtapes, and a lot of the songs are horribly recorded and clipped to hell or something like the new kanye cd, someone had fun with the recording gain and its about 13db too high, best way i've been able to describe it is "popcorn in your tweeters" kind of sound. i'f you're hearing that, its clipped signal, and doing damage. as far as placement, in the kicks gives really good sound an imaging, but i always kick them personally, and speakers dont mix well with sandy snow covered boots (ask the guy above me, who kicked off my grill ) try and keep it low and near to the mid if you can, another thing to try is exact equidistance from the tweeter, like say it's 33inches from the mid in the door to your hear, find a spot that exact same distance from your ear and mount it there. bobonit
ok what are the kicks!?? lolin the car whats the kick? Kick pods. You replace the stock kick panels in your vehicle with custom made ones which have mids and tweets in them. Usually fiberglassed. The kicks are below the dash just in in front of the front doors. raytard
get in your car like your going to drive your useless left foot, the one you tap along with the beat, think of what you're kicking when you do that, thats the kick panel Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
ISO
get in your car like your going to driveyour useless left foot, the one you tap along with the beat, think of what you're kicking when you do that, thats the kick panel LOL and if you own a truck, figure out how far down the emergency brake goes. I almost had to build a new set for my truck a few years ago, after I had them done I realized the emergency brake was pushing the screen in on the speaker grill. LOL it was close, another 1/4 to 1/2 inch closer and I would have had to rebuild the driver side. LOL Just something to think about. P.S. The Kicks fit perfect but once I had 2 very thin layers of "actually old Tee shirt" and the resin applied, it almost screwed me. User error but still something happened that I never thought about. stayfly33
what about mounting the tweeters next to the stock speaker locations in the door? or is it better to mount them higher up on the door?
