Bali Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 We all hear about how subs can/might/could/possibly/not really/nah i can blast em they don't do shit to my ears, but i want to find out which one is the "truest." Post how long and loud you have used your system, (years/hours per day) and what effects you have gotten/noticed from it, if any. Tinnitus? Hearing loss? Organ replacements? Trouble breathing? (the last 2 are jokes for the dense ones out there ) How loud do you have your speakers usually when you drive around? Has that caused any noticeable effects to your hearing? Also you can post what you specifically have too, but it's probably not necessary. I know that there has been similar topics before but i searched and i couldn't find any survey-type threads anywhere, so i figured why not? EDIT: What type of music would probably make a difference too.
Pioneer~Saturn Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I have a little ringing if everything is silent around me and if im in a big crowd of people that's screaming (like a sporting event) my left ear starts really bothering me when everyone screams (if it's a high-scream).. But ive only had this setup fully installed for maybe 4 months now and I usually keep it a 'decent' listening volume but when I get on the highway I make the 18 a little smelly from time-to-time...meh. Does a 147 @ 35Hz...not insanity loud but definitely gets uncomfortable after a while if it's kept up. thehoe92 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 shit, had my system maybe a month and my right ear is going wack. I don't listen full tilt but I do have it pretty loud. its rap most of the time. but this past week my right ear just sounds dull like I can hear but not detailed. when I listen to my system I plug my left ear and it sounds way different... then I plug my right ear and it sounds the same as if both were open. maybe its just clogged but its pissin me off. Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple
Bali Posted March 9, 2009 Author Report Posted March 9, 2009 sounds good so far guys! lol i'm just wondering how steve can bump 20,000 watts all the time and not have anything wrong, but our systems that don't even compare cause problems?

Nightshade Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I have permenant hearing damage in my right ear from a 166.6 db burp at 70hz. It happened in 1999 and to this day I can't hear as well out of my right ear as I can my left. The right ear was the ear facing the windshield when I stuck my head in the door during the full tilt burp. 2013 VW Jetta GLI 2.0 Turbo 1 Sundown Audio SCV2000 1 Sundown Audio X15 V2 1 XS Power D3100 Audio Control LC6i Stock Deck 146.4 sealed on the dash at 37hz 2001 Focus ZX3: RETIRED Team Sundown Audio, Team XS Power, 2 time NSPL Car 3601-Up Champion, 2 time NSPL Car Hardcore ChampionHighest NSPL Scores to date:154.3db on the dash sealed at 46hz, 156.2db in the kick at 46hz155.2db unofficial on dash at 43hz
Loudcav Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Ive lost some hearing but it could also be contributed to shooting firearms with no hearing protection which honestly in the past after shooting a case of Shotgun shells Ive had major hearing loss in my left ear for a few days

mr.p Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 no bull shit, i bang loud as my system can support (voltage) long as i can... i read your thread and dismissed it, then 20 minutes later i had a ringing in my right ear that lasted a good 10 minutes :\ could be coincedence could not be...but i work around machinery all day so thats most likely to contribute to any hearing loss in general as thats 10-13 hours of loudness lol DCAUDIO BALLS DEEP
E-Train Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I had hearing problems once, but i think it was only because a chunk of earwax rattled loose and got clogged in my ear canal, a little warm water and some head bangin later it fell right out n i could hear perfect 1997 4 Runner Alpine CDA-9886 4 Fi Audio X Series 12's 1 Crunch GP3000D Pro DC Power Inc.
