Using Brad Nailer For Box Building?

I HAVE BEEN BUILDING BOXES FOR MANY YEARS . I STARTED OUT USING SCREWS ( LOTS OF THEM) AS I FOUND OUT TOO MANY SCREWS ACTUALITY WEAKENS THE WOOD , AND IT TAKES FOR EVER , IF YOU USE SCREWS YOU NEED TO PRE DRILL ALL THE HOLES , LIKE I SAID TAKES FOR EVER, NOW I USE A STAPLE GUN THATS SHOOTS 1.5 INCH STAPLES , ALL THE STAPLES DO IS HOLD THE BOX TOGETHER WHILE THE GLUE DRIES , THATS BEING SAID MAKE SURE YOU USE GOOD GLUE ( NOT ELEMERS PARER GLUE ) WHEN YOU PUT IT ON MAKE SURE YOU COVER THE ENTIRE EDGE OF THE WOOD , DON,T WORRY ABOUT EXCESS GLUE YOU CAN WHIP IT OFF OR SAND IT , MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE GLUE COME OUT OF THE EDGE WHEN YOU FASTEN IT , I USE 1 STAPLE EVERY 4-5 INCHES . REMEMBER TOO MANY SCREWS OR STAPLES IS BAD NOT GOOD . P.S MAKE SURE YOU BUY A GOOD STAPLE GUN, YOU WILL SAVE MONEY IN THE LONG RUN .

I wouldn't recommend DeWalt to anyone. I sell power/Pneumatic tools all day, DeWalt is junk compared to other brands. They have completely gone to shit. As for a brad nailer they are fine, but if your gonna build a lot of diff boxes make sure you get one that will shoot a 2" at least. The first time you double baffle a box you'll be glad you did.

I see you have been building boxes for many years, how loing have you been using ALL CAPS!!!

Don't yell at me!

But I started out using screws and found that brad nails at a slant are much more effective.. kinda like this / \ / \ / \ and put glue on the entire edge and I usually get a paint brush to smear it so it covers the entire joint.... I haven't had a box fail me yet... and I've built a few 3-4kw systems.

DeWalt were bought out by Black and Decker, but from what I hear they still run independently, on theyre previous patents. Makita are better quality in my opinion. As for brad nailers paslode are wicked nailers, never used them on a box tho, might have to next i build one. Thanks for the idea. lol

Haha were you trying to race somebody or something? Or are you just proud you slapped a box together as fast as you could and got it under an hour. Id rather somebody build me a box in a week with the best quality possible than somebody slapping a box together in 45min.

no, its called having other shit to do. btw i am still using that box today. i wonder how fast i can build my t-line this weekend?

Need any thing chromed? Hit me up!!!

Porter Cable 16ga Finish Nailer with 2" nails is all I use. I bet ive built more boxes than all SMD members combined.

....and for the record. Slot port dual 12 box for a tahoe. 49X14X15.5 built in 6 minutes. (no sub holes cut or carpet) 8)
