Subsonic Filters

My box is tuned to 33hz and sub is 18" SSD i know it can play

low rite now have my ssf set at about 20hz the highest my ssf goes on my amp is 35hz

and the lowest is 15hz should i bump it up to just inder 33hz or leave it? Also i have my highpass

set right around 45hz where should that be set to for best output?

HPF is personal preference.

I prefer 80Hz for HPF.

Most people usually set SSF 10Hz below box tuning.

I'm going to assume that with the HPF or (subsonic filter) the amp doesn't just cut it off with a flat slope? If that's the case that would be great where it's at because it will give it a smooth slope down below 20.

Subsonic = HPF on a sub amp.

The other crossover is the LPF or LOW pass filter, as in beLOW this number can pass this filter.

Probably set your HPF (subsonic) to about 30hz and your LPF to ~80hz

But wouldn't that keep his sub from performing at it's best since his box is tuned to 33hz?

I would guess that if the subsonic was set at 30hz then it's got a rollup slope that cuts right into the 33hz the box is tuned at which wouldn't allow the sub to get it's max power at that frequency and therefore cause the box to not perform at it's peak. If it was possible I would try and set the low pass at around 25hz.

no, if set at 30hz.... it likely does a flat drop of 3db at 30hz or at 29.99hz it begins to drop... then follows the slope of the hpf(subsonic)

so if set at 30hz (box tuned to 33hz) w/24db slope.... at 22.5hz it would be -12db and 15hz it would be -24db

5-10hz below tuning is fine... as long as u dont play bass i love u, put on... bubble up... or a few others u dont need to get lower than 30hz...

Ah, I see, so it's more common for the slope to be flat then.
