Most applications that call for an amp installed in a 24v DC system would just use a standard 12v DC amp and a step down transformer. I have seen prototype 24v DC amps but they never went to market. mr.p Posted May 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted May 3, 2009 who produced the prototypes? and wouldnt there be significant loss in amperage using a step down. im trying to avoid tapping the middle of 2 12 volt batts, as i dont want uneven current draw and equalizers seem to be only rated at like 150 amps or so, every thing is low amperage it seems.... is there step down or process you would recommend for this? Z2HV is good to about 20v (18v + charging) but that's it. If you put 28v to it (because they're unregulated) they will make too much voltage on the rails and probably blow all the rail caps. 10.x volts fo' life! I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more.
