97maxima Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 build looks solid but imo not enough port,especially when you drop to one port for your lowest tuning.i see its about a foot in height so firing up restrains your length in port a little. but you could easily rebuild a L shaped slot port into the mix if you decide you dont like the output. Nightshade Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Honestly if it were me I'd just tune the box to 34hz and be done with it instead of trying to do a removable port setup. I have yet to meter my car with my port plugs in, but I do know that when I drop the tuning of them down to 30hz it is badass weather I'm losing some output or not. It does a 151+ at 43hz and I'm certain that when it's tuned to 30 it's will do way over a 149 easily. If your not worried about competing then go with your origional idea of plugging the ports. If your interested I can show you what my port plugs look like so that you could go and buy some of your own to try out. I do reccomend that you use aeroports though. It will increase your output by as much as 1.5db and they sound much much better too. Team_DC-Derrick Posted May 23, 2009 Author Report Posted May 23, 2009 well, we decided i wasnt gonna plug the ports, gonna do 4 4" 4" long pvc ports for a 41 hz tuning freq and do 2 4" 6.15" long which will give me a 30hz tuning, the baffle is cut out and we are almost ready to start cutting the holes for the port and subs, should be all in my car sometime tonight or tomorrow morning.. will post pics when i get home.
