Im about to get my build going and i need to know if anyone found a really good but cheap sound deadening material? I Need to do the trunk, headliner, floor, firewall, and also the hood. If its not good with heat then i dont have to do hood. I know its a hard question to answer but how much would i need to do a 2000 cavalier coupe?

good question... ive heard people say peel and seal from home depot but it takes like 4 layers.... so it may not end up being cheap... idk... whoever has some knowledge on sound deadening... tell us our options... i was wondering about sutuff like truck bed liner and rubberized undercoating.... what can we do?

I like the second skin Damplifier Pro.

Is works best with heat because it doesnt soften and peel off.

Also, there are score lines in the foil backing that allows air bubbles to escape when being applied, assuring that it adheres to the sheet metal properly.

Using peel and seal or cheap deadener will almost certainly make sure it peels off in the summer.

Second Skin is better but less expensive than Dynamat.

They also make a sludge that works pretty good.

I used Dynamat, HOWEVER, I also used the rubberized Spray from walmart. It's like $1.99 a can. Another little trick is Campers tape, It's sold at auto zone and it'll seal ur car up real good, just go around the doors/windows where it meets the weather stripping.

EDIT: sonicelectronix.com Is where I get my dynamat is actually pretty cheap.
