ThaWeezord
For those of you who aren't into serious SPL (maybe have two boxes/setups for that) and still want to get loud with a daily driving setup to play music, what are you guys tuning your box to?! just trying to figure out what i want my new system to be like and wondering what others listen to for daily bumpin. can you please post what you are tuned to and what music you listen to mostly. maybe even what subs/power you are working with. thanks

sean 371
no thats too high. 30-33 would do you nicely. I wouldn't go higher than 36 or so for a good daily driven box. LSN2meBoom916
SEALED FTW! Tuned for...EVERYTHING! I'd say it REALLY depends on what kinda of tunes you like to listen to. Also, what kinda subs you using? Some subs, regardless of size can/can't handle certain tuning. I have heard from folks that sold them at a shop all the time that MASSIVE brand 15's (stage 2's i think it was) even in the 15'' size needed to be tuned "WAY HIGH"...as ported boxes go-as in around 50hz or they would just sound like ass and usually kill themselves trying to get low. Whereas ask Ray about Ascendant 8's. Ray &/or the guys at Superior sound where he worked built a box for 6-AA8's in a ported box that did a 151 on the TL and was tuned for around 40hz I believe. You can emphasize certain "tuning" by building the box a certain way (bigger/smaller/lotsa port are/very minimal port area, etc) but in the end there's a lot that goes into "hw it will sound daily". majorpayne
my btl is in a box tuned to 29 hz. I know its low but it peaks right at 45 hz where my truck peaks also so it makes it a killer bassracer
