mxman38
I dont know if this has been discussed, but i just found out that one of my subs was halfway out of the box *2 18" hdc3's walled* Wondering how the hell this happened i noticed that 3 of the bottom screws are still in the box and the screw seems to have gone right through the entire hole of the basket. i use the gold plate screws... just a tad thicker than drywall screws... how big of a screw can i go? or what does everyone else run... i feel like a noob right now. newls1
I use 5/16ths t-nuts, with 5/16 bolts on my BL's. Before this, I was using screws, and everyweek I had a dancing speaker Quote I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny

Kicker Guy
i dont know how much bigger i can fit through this sub... i kinda like the T-nut idea tho T Nuts are great if you take the subs out a lot, I find screws to be a better option if you leave them in the box. Neo_frog
The reason you bust screws is because you don't torque them. For those who have been here a while and seen, I've installed 88 subs in my car alone since joining the forum, 16 of which were upside down (EDIT: firing down) and I've never busted a screw head. If you try to make them extremely tight or don't support the weight until you have all four sides with at least one screw, you'll pop em. Torque them and you'll be fine.
