BassJunkie
the box will still sound good with 2 subs inverted! Yup, you would just have to reverse the positive and negative, right? AP Zoutes
then its like only having two subs I want to know where you are getting your misinformation from . Inverting will not decrease it actually has no effect. You just need to reverse the polarity like Bassjunkie said.
Kicker Guy
Alpine, you have 2 choices you can either rebuild the box, or inverted the back 2 subs. I would just invert the 2 subs and see how it sounds. You have to reverse the polarity of the inverted subs or you will get cancellation. How do you think its pointless to invert them? You still have the same amount of cone area moving, so how will you get less bass? Slinky
you give more airspace in the box by inverting the subs, thats it. Kicker Guy
If you don't reverse the polaity of the inverted subs then yes you will lose some bass because the subs are out of phase with the rest of you system.
