obviously your not trusting it if you are questioning it,the man knows what hes doing,BALEED DAT!why does the 3 together make you "nervous" you think they would move more air if they werent together?

Three fans sittin together is pulling air from essentially the same spot. Now unless I only thought I saw a amp sitting right in front of the intake fans, that means he is pulling slightly heated air from over the top of a amp and into the amp rack.

Now spread those fans apart equally for the intake and your pulling air from three different spots.

Now do I think they would move more air apart? No. Move cooler air more efficiently? Yes.

Now as for you smart asses regarding the smoke test. Doing that will show where your air flow is going. I thought the point of adding the fans was to help Steve's heart from failing?

its not about "slightly heated air" or where its coming from, its about MOVING the air which it does very well. The air flows so fast, the air will be more warm from the enviroment then it will from the amps themselves, so dont worry about it. I didnt like the idea of spreading them apart and i didnt even like spreading the ones in the middle apart. If i had a choice they would have been together also. The way the amps sit, i couldnt do that. Its better the way i did it, trust me. Even if it wasnt better, its damn good and much better then it was. I said probably 5 times and even on video that a TON of air is moving/circulating, what else needs to be said? YOu dont believe me or something? I already did the smoke test, i wasnt lying about that.......just the one I DID, i cant put on youtube. David is comeing to hang out we will do it then, if im at a stage where i can do it.

I have to say I am truly impressed with the cooling fan setup for your amps. You are absolutely right about the concern being that the system is moving air. I have an uncle that builds amplifiers for CB radios and he loved the setup. The fans he uses are bigger but he agreed it's not so much placement as making sure they are moving air. This is your Tahoe, your rebuild thread. Keep doing what you do!

thanks, my thoughts exactly.......plus, the placement is DAMN good too so its a win-win. Why anyone would think they are in a bad place is beyond me. They blow DIRECTLY and with AUTHORITY over the top of the amps, dead center.......two fans pulling air from the center and in between the amps on both sides, then in reverse order on the way out. It truly works great so people need to chill with their suggestions (no pun intended). That is X5 if you never did it before yourself.
