60 Inch Subwoofer! Worlds Largest Sub!

Recommended Posts

Any bass can beat this custom made 60-inch subwoofer which able to produce SPL levels above 180 dB. The huge woofer has output displacement comparable to 160+ ten inch woofers! The motor is capable of producing 6,000+ pounds of linear force, which is necessary when considering the very large surface area and displacement volume required producing a high SPL levels

Any bass can beat this useless custom made 60-inch subwoofer which able to produce SPL levels above 180 dB when strapped to a rocket. The huge woofer requires an enclosure comparable to that of 160+ ten inch woofers! The motor is capable of producing 6,000+ pounds of linear force, but does not. When considering the very large surface area and displacement volume required producing a high SPL levels this project was a COMPLETE waste of time & resources.

that would be fun to connect to a 440volt 60amp 60hz outlet in a full size van church van, or little yellow bus, wall it off , concrete the mutha fker with rebar, and see how fast the windows break..... That thing was actually made really sturdy, but I dunno about the 6000lbs of linear force... If you look at that thing up close, the terminals and speaker wire are huge! like 0gauge to power the sub, and the cone is reinforced with steel bracing on the front side. I dont think it was a complete waste, but a fun 1 time weekend project

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
