Got my AP-18001D today. I quickly opened up the cover while voiding the warranty as I couldn't resist to see her nude. A couple of people here said that this amplifier is possible overrated since it is a newer model. Well it came with a 120A external fuse so... the AP-15001D comes with a 100A fuse and the AP-30001D comes with a 200A. They all seem kinda odd but they are CEA-2006 compliant (I think) and some people tested them and they give out the wattage so I would believe that the 18001D is also solid.

If you're wondering why I'm using such thin wires, well I am actually running this off a Corsair 60A power supply. I know that I'm asking for trouble. Voltage trouble, but so far it isn't TOO bad. I will be buying some thicker wires, maybe modify my power supply to use 4 gauge wires. Right now the power wires are about 1.5 feet long.

Has more "stuff in it" than the 1500 model for more power... same basic design, more transistors for a bit more power.

So would you say that this would definitely do more than 1500 watts RMS if I had a good electrical system?

Also, does anyone know if this amplifier would do 0.5 ohm or 0.8 ohm stable?

I ask for 0.8 because for some reason my DVC 2 ohm subwoofers; when I wire them parallel/parallel, I get a final of 0.8 and not 0.5.
